Phosphate-Assisted Synthesis of N-Doped Carbon-Coated RuPx on Carbon Nanotube for Efficient pH-Wide Hydrogen Evolution

Abstract

A phosphate-assisted route was proposed to synthesize N-doped carbon-coated RuPx nanoparticles on carbon nanotubes, which demonstrates outstanding activity on par with Pt/C for the pH-wide hydrogen evolution reaction, separately requiring overpotentials of only 14, 62, and 19 mV to achieve 10 mA cm -2 in the alkaline, acidic and neutral conditions, sheding a new light on the synthsis of metal phophide in electrocatalysis.
