One-dimensional infinite chain Ag(i) complex with high quantum yield and TADF property: prepared by metal ion adjustment

Abstract

Four complexes with different metal ions were synthesized. The new Ag(I) complex [Ag(bdppmapy)(Dpq)]CF3SO3 (AgDpq) with one-dimensional infinite chain exhibited excellent photophysical properties, superior to that of the homologue Cu(I) complex. Besides, it also demonstrated highly efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) property. For the Ag(I) complex, the smaller contribution of metal to the excited states (MLCT %), which reduces the non-radiative transition, plays an important role in the improvement of quantum yield.
