Hierarchical Bi/Bi2O3 heterostructures with robust oxygen vacancies for efficient electrochemical CO2 reduction to formate

Abstract

An oxygen-vacancy-rich Bi/Bi2O3 catalyst with a hierarchical nanostructure was developed for efficient electrocatalytic CO2-to-formate conversion, and the obtained Bi/Bi2O3 catalyst exhibits a faradaic efficiency exceeding 98% at −1.18 V vs. RHE with superior stability.
