Correlation between core-electron binding energies and Mössbauer chemical isomer shifts for inorganic complexes containing iron(II) low spin

Abstract

For five FeII low-spin complexes, there is a linear correlation between the 57Fe isomer shifts and the Fe2p and Fe3p binding energies; the trend in binding energies is related to the π-acceptor properties of the ligands.
