Acoustofluidics 1: Governing equations in microfluidics

Abstract

In Part 1 of the thematic tutorial series “Acoustofluidicsexploiting ultrasonic standing waves forces and acoustic streaming in microfluidic systems for cell and particle manipulation”, we establish the governing equations in microfluidics. Examples of basic flow solutions are presented, and equivalent circuit modeling for determining flow rates in microfluidic networks is introduced.
