Broadband paper-photodetectors for visible & UV light detection

Abstract

Hygroscopic cellulose office papers possess the ability to absorb water or moisture, resulting in enhanced electrical conductivity. This study demonstrates the utilization of humidified office papers as versatile, disposable, and renewable broadband photodetectors for diverse applications. The developed paper-photodetectors (P-PDs) allow simultaneous detection of broadband light and temperature. By effectively controlling and managing the water content, sealed office papers offer reliable detection of both visible and UV light, along with temperature measurements. Notably, they are characterized by flexibility, scalability, eco-friendliness, and cost-effectiveness.
