Highly Selective Separation of Toluene/Methylcyclohexane by a Clamparene-Based 3D Porous Crystal

Abstract

We demonstrate the application of clamparene-based 3D porous crystals as a purifying agent to effectively remove toluene from the mixture of methylcyclohexane and toluene. We found that clamparene can selectively adsorbs toluene in a mixed of toluene and methylcyclohexane via host–guest interactions up to 99.40% purity.
