Aerobic oxidation of C(sp3)–H bonds of 4,5-diazafluorene promoted by coordination

Abstract

We report a facile oxidation of the CH2group in a coordinated 4,5-diazafluorene (LH) ligand in [RuCl2(LH)(PPh3)2] into a carbonyl group by air at ambient temperature, leaving the two PPh3 ligands intact.
