Isomerism and transformation of Zr-hydroxamate metal–organic frameworks

Abstract

Phase transformation was investigated for stable Zr-hydroxamate and Zr-carboxylate MOFs. First, the benchmark UiO-66 could easily convert into three isomeric Zr-hydroxamate MOFs, all boasting exceptional chemical robustness. Further, within the Zr-hydroxamate family, it was also discovered that “metastable” phases could readily isomerize into a thermodynamic product.
