Tailoring strong Brønsted acid sites in HZSM-5 for selective aromatics production from CO2 hydrogenation
Abstract
This work reports a urea-assisted method to prepare HZSM-5 with tunable Brønsted acid sites (BAS). When combined with ZnZrOx, the bifunctional catalyst achieves selective and efficient aromatic production (89.1% selectivity and 12.0% yield) in CO2 hydrogenation. A high proportion of strong BAS favors the methanol-to-aromatics reaction, thus driving tandem CO2 conversion.
