Triazidogermyl complexes of tungsten: synthesis, crystal structure and hydrolysis to a metallocyclotrigermoxane

Abstract

The synthesis and full characterization of the triazidogermyl complexes trans-(η5-C5R5)W(CO)n(PMe3)3-nGe(N3)3 (2a: R = H, = 1; 2b: R = Me, = 1; 5b: R = Me, = 2) is reported; the crystal structures of 2a and of the metallocyclotrigermoxane [Cp*W(CO)2(PMe3)Ge(N3)(µ2-O)]3· C6H6 (6b·C6H6), the product of partial hydrolysis of 5b, are described.
