Self-assembly of free-base tetrapyridylporphyrin units by metal ion coordination

Abstract

The first free-base meso-tetraarylporphyrin coordination polymer is assembled from meso-tetrapyridylporphyrin and HgBr2via 4-connected peripheral ligation, and it possesses a novel one-dimensional structural motif with large interporphyrin cavities.
