Hypervalent iodine oxidation of chromium tricarbonyl complexes of benzocycloalkanones and acetophenone

Abstract

Hypervalent iodine oxidation of the title compounds occurs stereoselectively and regiospecifically to yield the Cr(CO)3 complex of the derived α-hydroxy dimethyl acetal.
