The cation of hexamethyldistannane generated by radiolysis: an e.s.r study

Abstract

Analysis of the Sn hyperfine tensor components for (Me3Sn·SnMe3)+ generated by radiolysis of hexa-methyldistannane in fluorotrichloromethane at 77 K shows that the metal–metal orbital is largely 4pz+ 4pz, the 4s contribution being neligible.
