Preparation and X-ray crystal structure of [S2MoS2Mo(NNMe2)2(PPh3)], a binuclear molybdenum hydrazido (2–)-complex containing co-ordinated tetrathiomolybdate

Abstract

Reaction of [MCl(NNMe2)2(PPh3)2]Cl (M = Mo or W) with [Bun4N]2[M′S4](M′= Mo, W) gives the complexes [S2M′S2M(NNMe2)2(PPh3)]; an X-ray crystal structure of the dinuclear complex with M = M′= Mo shows the molybdenum atoms to have distorted tetrahedral and trigonal bipyramidal geometries.
