The synthesis and configuration of some 32-norlanosterol derivatives

Abstract

Methods are described for the removal of carbon atom 32 from certain 32-functionalised lanosterol derivatives. It is shown unequivocally that the compounds thus obtained have the unnatural 14β-configuration.
