Desulphurisation of aliphatic trisulphides, a mechanistic dichotomy

Abstract

The central sulphur atom of aliphatic trisulphides is removed with triphenylphosphine, whereas with tris(diethylamino)phosphine only the sulphur bonded to carbon is extruded.
