Retracted Article: Chemical etching of a cobalt-based metal-organic framework for enhancing the electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction

Abstract

Via chemical etching, the pillar ligands of a 3D metal-organic frameworks (MOF) were removed, and a 2D layer MOF was obtained. This 2D MOF possesses high density of open metal sites and exhibits a low overpotential of 293 mV at 10 mA cm–2 in 0.1 M KOH solution, the associated Faradaic efficiency is high to 99.3%, which is better than for benchmark OER catalyst IrO2/C (310 mV).
