Organic-Inorganic Heterojunction Photoanode for Photoelectrochemical Conversion of Glycerol to Dihydroxyacetone
Abstract
A ternary FeOOH/2PACz/BiVO4 photoanode is developed, where an organic semiconductor interlayer facilitates charge separation and transport, while FeOOH serves as a cocatalyst to enhance surface reaction kinetics. As a result, the photoanode delivers a photocurrent density of 3.90 mA cm-2 at 1.2 V vs. RHE and achieves a Faradaic efficiency of 40.2% toward dihydroxyacetone production from glycerol.
