Construction of P-stereogenic phosphine oxides via Lewis base-catalyzed enantioselective O-Boc protection

Abstract

A Lewis base-catalyzed enantioselective O-Boc protection strategy has been developed for the construction of P-stereocenters. Using a chiral DMAP analogue, desymmetrization of P-tethered bisphenols with Boc₂O furnishes P-stereogenic phosphine oxides in decent yields and good to high enantioselectivities.
