Enhanced lignin hydrogenolysis by in-situ hydrogen supply through methanol-water aqueous phase reforming over CoTi@biochar catalyst
Abstract
A novel catalytic strategy for enhanced lignin hydrogenolysis by in-situ hydrogen supply was developed over CoTi@Biochar catalyst. In this catalytic system, methanol is used as solvent for lignin hydrogenolysis. The suitable addition of water promoted methanol-water aqueous phase reforming (APR) reaction for in-situ hydrogen supply, which enhances the lignin hydrogenolysis performance. The synergistic interaction between Co and Ti species not only promotes the APR reaction for hydrogen production, but also improves the hydrogenolysis of lignin. The proposed strategy offers a promising approach for advancing lignin valorization and sustainable biorefinery technologies.
