Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Reaction by an Organometallic Cobalt Complex and its Hybrid Material with MWCNT

Abstract

The electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reactivity of a Co-C organometallic bond containing cobalt quinolyl benzamide complex has been demonstrated. The retainment of Co-C(arene) bond in this complex under electrocatalytic conditions and its effect on HER activty has been elucidated. Also, the hybrid material of the Co(III) complex with MWCNT acts as precatalyst for Co(OH)2/CoOOH electrocatalyst under alkaline aqueous solution.
