Noncovalent assembly strategy to significantly enhance the iodine adsorption capacity of a Schiff-base macrocycle
Abstract
Macrocycle M was generated directly via a Schiff-base condensation reaction in methanol, yielding a solid with a fibre-like morphology. Slow evaporation and noncovalent assembly of M in organic solvents produced other organic micro/nanoparticles, which displayed noticeably different adsorption capacities towards iodine.
