Dual-Emission Luminescent Eu-MOF/g-C3N4 Nanomaterials: A Novel Bifunctional Platform for Aflatoxin B1 Detection and Degradation

Abstract

A novel dual-emission luminescent Eu-MOF/g-C3N4 nanocomposite is developed as a bifunctional platform for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) detection and degradation. This material achieves highly sensitive ratiometric fluorescence detection with a limit of detection of 11.48 ppb, while simultaneously delivering 94.33% photocatalytic degradation efficiency under visible light within 120 min. The integrated system demonstrates exceptional anti-interference performance in complex food matrices, with spiked recoveries of 97.4%–101.22% in peanut oil samples and sustained catalytic activity over multiple cycles. By combining rapid visual detection with efficient detoxification in a single material, this platform addresses the critical need for comprehensive mycotoxin control strategies and provides a versatile paradigm for multifunctional nanomaterials in food safety and environmental applications.
