Non-Precious Metal-Decorated BiFeO3 Ferroelectrics for Polarization-Driven Efficient CO2 Photoreduction

Abstract

Polarization-induced energy band modulation and interfacial electron transfer enable highly efficient, fully CO-selective, and stable CO2 photoreduction over non-precious-metal-decorated BiFeO3 ferroelectrics, alleviating the unfavorable reduction-potential constraint. This work further highlights the importance of synergistically coupling polarization manipulation, grain orientation, and interfacial modification in the rational design of ferroelectric photocatalysts.
