In situ construction of ZnP 2 /CuP 2 heterojunction for efficient Nitrate-to-ammonia electroreduction

Abstract

A ZnP2/CuP2 composite catalyst with abundant heterointerfaces was constructed, featuring tandem synergistic effect of ZnP2 and CuP2 dual sites and their interfacially electronic modulation, achieving a favorable NO3 --to-NH3 reaction pathway. By optimizing the proportion of the active sites, a remarkable NH3 yield of 46.3 mg h -1 mgcat -1 and high Faraday efficiency of 98.5 % was afforded.
