Synthesis, Processing and Applications of Poly(benzodifurandione)

Abstract

Poly(benzodifurandione) (PBFDO), as a benchmark n-type conductive polymer, features simple synthesis, high conductivity and solution processing, thereby exhibiting broad application prospects in organic electronics. Innovations in its synthesis method and the expansion of its application scenarios have garnered significant research interest, leading to a rapid increase in related publications. This review systematically summarizes the various synthesis methods of PBFDO and recent advances in its applications, particularly in organic thermoelectric devices, organic electrochemical transistors, flexible electronics and other fields. Combined with the current research status, the development trend of PBFDO is prospected, which provides a reference for the development of n-type high conductive polymers and promotes the industrialization and synthesis method breakthrough of PBFDO in the field of organic electronics.
