Evaporation-Induced Formation of Blue-Emissive Guanine-Based Spherulitic Microstructures

Abstract

Guanine crystals in biogenic systems exhibit diverse optical functionalities, however, spherulitic assemblies of guanine are rarely studied. Herein, we report the formation of emissive guanine spherulites from a basic aqueous solution via a simple evaporation-induced self-assembly process.
