Visible Light-Induced Ipso-Chalcogenation of Aryl/Alkenyl Boronic Acids Assisted by a Chalcogen-Radical Transfer (ChRT) Strategy

Abstract

Herein, we report a transition-metal free, visible light-induced method for the ipso-chalcogenation of aryl/alkenyl boronic acids. Our approach enables functionalization of a variety of electronically-diverse aromatic boronic acids under mild conditions by using cost-effective source of photons, eventually giving rise to a wide range of unsymmetrical sulphides, selenides as well as tellurides.
