Ultraviolet light-induced C-C Bond Cleavage of tert-Cycloalkanols using Anthraquinone

Abstract

Herein, this paper reports a general anthraquinone-photocatalyzed method for selective C-C bond cleavage of cycloalkanols under ambient conditions, enabling site-specific remote sulfonylated ketone synthesis via proton-coupled electron transfer. The reaction shows broad functional-group tolerance, continuous-flow scalability, and provides an efficient route to functionalized ketones.
