Alkaline-earth carbonate supported Ru for quinoline hydrogenation: enhanced H2 activation via electronic metal-support interaction

Abstract

Alkaline-earth metal carbonates (e.g., CaCO3) supported Ru have been demonstrated as effective catalysts for quinoline hydrogenation. The electronic metal–support interaction (EMSI) between CaCO3 and Ru enriches Ru electron density, thereby promoting H2 activation and facilitating product desorption, resulting in improved catalytic performance.
