Can Cyclopropyl Rings Serve as Energetic Moieties? A Structural and Reactivity Perspective
Abstract
Cyclopropyl-functionalized energetic compounds 2, 3, 5, and 7 were synthesized and characterized comprehensively. Compounds 2 and 5 showed exceptional hypergolicity, with ultrashort Ignition delay of 6 and 2 ms. Notably, 5 outperformed its hydrazine analogue (iii), establishing cyclopropyl substitution as a promising strategy for advanced hypergolic propellant additives.
