MOF-Ionic Liquid Engineered Polymer Electrolyte for Advanced Solid-State Sodium Metal Batteries

Abstract

The polymer solid electrolyte incorporating UIO66-NH2 (UN66) filler functionalized with the ionic liquid EMIM (IL-UN66) exhibits high ionic mobility and excellent electrochemical stability. The IL-UN66 filler plays a dual role: it effectively anchors TFSI⁻anions to promote rapid Na+ transport, while simultaneously facilitating the formation of an inorganic-rich solid-electrolyte interphase and enhancing the thermal stability of the polymer membrane. This integrated design enables reliable solid-state sodium-ion batteries with superior cycling stability.
