Hierarchical Ru Nanoparticles Decorated MoS2@Ni-MOF for Highly Efficient Overall Water Splitting

Abstract

A series of hierarchical electrode materials were fabricated by sequential incorporation of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets and ruthenium (Ru) nanoparticles into metal-organic framework. The sample with a moderate Ru loading (x = 0.15) delivers the optimal electrocatalytic performance, requiring 53 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and 175 mV for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at 10 mA cm⁻² in alkaline solution.
