Surfactant-free NaBH4-mediated synthesis of AuxPd1-x nano-alloys for active electrocatalysts

Abstract

Nanomaterials with composition AuxPd1-x (x=0-1) in the size range 5 -15 nm are easily obtained at room temperature using a surfactant-free NaBH4-mediated synthesis in water. The materials are readily active electrocatalysts suitable to timely study composition effects, as exemplified with the electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR).
