Incorporation of ferrocene moieties into the backbone of BCN hybrid polymers via 1,3-linkage

Abstract

Metallopolymers and precisely defined oligomers composed of conjugated (bi)phenylene groups linked via BN moieties in 1,3-connectivity pattern to 1’,2’,3’,4’,5’-pentamethylferrocene units are presented. Photophysical studies reveal metal–ligand charge transfer (MLCT) as well as π–π* transitions within the conjugated organic linker with a certain contribution of the 1,3-linked Cp ring.
