Hydroalkoxylation of 2-vinylaniline Enabled by Light-induced Proton Transfer

Abstract

We report a strategy for activating the carbon-carbon double bond via light-induced proton transfer. The strategy enables hydroalkoxylation of 2-vinylaniline to be conducted under mild conditions. A broad scope of alcohol substrates are tolerated, furnishing the desired products with moderate to excellent yields.
