Synthesis of fluorene-indole/benzofuran bicyclic molecules through palladium-catalyzed carboheterofunctionalization of alkynes

Abstract

A novel palladium-catalyzed carboheterofunctionalization of alkynes has been developed, providing an efficient strategy for the synthesis of fluorene–indole and fluorene–benzofuran biscycles in moderate to good yields. This protocol exhibits broad substrate scope and excellent functional group tolerance. Preliminary investigations of the asymmetric variant revealed moderate levels of enantioselectivity.
