Oxidative coupling of 3-ethoxy Pd II N-confused porphyrins with βdiketones using PIFA as the oxidant

Abstract

A novel oxidative coupling enables site-specific C21 functionalization of 3-ethoxy Pdᴵᴵ N-confused porphyrins with βdiketones using PIFA. X-ray analysis confirms C-Pd bond formation and sp³-C21. The 3-ethoxy group is crucial, likely facilitating a highvalent Pd intermediate, revealing distinct reactivity from Ni analogs and new NCP insights.
