Lewis Acidic Boron-Oxygen Interactions Activate Cobalt Oxysulfide for Oxygen Evolution Reaction
Abstract
Lewis-acidic boron incorporation into amorphous cobalt oxysulfide drives charge redistribution and cooperative hydroxide adsorption. The boron-doped catalyst promotes oxygen-evolution, reaching 10 mA cm -2 at 189 mV in 1.0 M KOH with stable cycling. Spectroscopy and theory indicate Fermi-level electronic modulation and boronenabled cooperative OH⁻ adsorption motifs, underpinning the enhanced activity.
