Correlation of the Electrochromic Absorption with the W6+/5+ Energetic States in WO3

Abstract

This work employs spectroelectrochemical methods to identify the redox W6+/5+ states responsible for electrochromism from transparent to blue. A correlation of the spectral change with the electron accumulation in the W5+ states has been observed at 0.45 VRHE. This results validate the electrochemical technique for quantification of electrochromic charge transfer.
