Overcoming interpenetration in ladder frameworks using a large readily accessible aliphatic linker
Abstract
Fused [5]polynorbornanes are introduced as a new class of rigid aliphatic linker for the synthesis of coordination polymers. Assembly of a 25 Å bis(4-pyridyl) ligand with Zn(II) yielded a non-interpenetrated, uniquely tesselated ladder framework. Gas uptake experiments indicate that this class of linker is a means to access novel porous coordination polymers.
