Reorienting Interfacial Water via Nanostructure Tip Effect to Accelerate Oxygen Reduction Kinetics
Abstract
We report a strategy to enhance oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) kinetics by modulating the localized electric field to reorient interfacial water structure. The optimized H-down configuration of interfacial water promotes the proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) process, leading to a dramatic increase in ORR activity.
