Photoinduced HCl-Catalyzed Acylation of N‑Heterocycles

Abstract

This study introduces an electron donor–acceptor (EDA) photochemical platform for the regioselective C(sp²)–H acylation of nitrogen-containing heteroarenes. The transformation is catalyzed solely by inexpensive, commercially available HCl in catalytic amounts, operating without the need for any metals or external additives.
