Ta-Doped Charge-Transferring Ir Shells on Ru Cores: Dual Stabilisation and Synergistic OER Catalysis for PEMWE

Abstract

Balancing the activity-stability trade-off of IrRu-based OER catalysts is critical for PEMWE. We design Ta-doped charge-transfer Ir shells on Ru nanorod cores (Ta-IrRuOx@IrOx), in which the Ir shell physically protects the Ru core, and Ta dopants stabilise the Ir shell via electron donation, providing dual stabilisation.
