MOF-on-MOF NiFe-BDC@ZIF-67 heterostructure nanoarrays for chloride-suppressed oxygen evolution in alkaline seawater
Abstract
A NiFe-BDC/ZIF-67 heterostructure is constructed as an efficient electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Its high activity and chloride tolerance in alkaline seawater result from the interfacial synergy and the formation of a protective (oxy)hydroxide layer. This work presents a practical strategy for designing MOF-on-MOF-based electrocatalysts for seawater electrolysis.
