Neutral BODIPY–chitosan films for photodynamic food freshness preservation

Abstract

An acid-free, neutral photodynamic film composed of CMCS–BDP and glycerol was fabricated. This film demonstrates excellent gas barrier and mechanical properties and antibacterial efficacy under green light illumination, effectively prolonging the shelf life of fruits and providing an alternative strategy for food preservation.
