Supramolecular Polymerization Couples Constitutional Adaptability and Fluorescence Response in a Dynamic Covalent Library
Abstract
A fluorescence-functional dynamic covalent library is established in which supramolecular polymerization couples constitutional adaptation with a fluorescent readout. Dynamic covalent C=C/C=N metathesis, combined with selective two-stage supramolecular polymerization, enables solvent- and temperature-responsiveness of library distributions, with a concomitant pronounced fluorescence response. This strategy demonstrates a effective linkage between chemical distributions and optical behaviour in a complex dynamic system.
