Tuning Ruthenium States for Enhanced Polyethylene Hydroconversion over HZSM-5 Catalysts

Abstract

Polyethylene hydroconversion over Ru/HZSM-5 catalysts was investigated by tuning Ru chemical states. The Ruδ+/Ru0 ratio, rather than particle size, governs product selectivity. An optimal ratio of 4.54 yields 71.5% liquid fuels via internal C–C cleavage. Recycling tests confirm performance decay with decreased Ruδ+/Ru0, highlighting the importance of Ru valence.
