Iron single-atom sites on MXene for a high-performance interdigitated micro-supercapacitor

Abstract

Herein, we demonstrate a scalable and flexible custom-made engineering of interdigitated micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) based on Fe single-atom sites on MXene (Fe SAS-MXene) electrodes. The Fe SAS-MXene MSCs deliver an energy density of 1.23 µWh cm−2 and a power density of 40.0 µW cm−2 through Fe single-atom trigonal coordination with three oxygen functional groups (Fe–O3) on the MXene surface, signifying their promise for flexible interdigitated microenergy storage systems.
